TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Paris Williams Allen is the GIS & Research Analyst for Transwestern’s national research team. In this role, Mrs. Allen creates innovative and intriguing mapping materials to clients, assists with optimal strategies based on market opportunities, and she extracts demographic and geographic information for maps, presentations, data summaries and quarterly reports. She also maintains geographic market data and statistics, to improve industry and market knowledge.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Currently, an adjunct professor for GIS and Geography at Broward College, Paris comes to Transwestern from the Miami Downtown Development Authority, where she served as Research and GIS Coordinator for the past two years. In this position, she was responsible for tracking a variety of economic indicators and geospatial data to perform custom analyses and design mapping solutions and visualizations for print, online and interactive formats. Earlier in her career, she provided geospatial intelligence analysis and created cartographic products as a GIS specialist for federal defense contractor Leidos.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION

Paris is an active member of the American Geographical Society (AGS). At Broward College, she spoke at the Spring 2017 & 2018 graduation. Her commencement speeches impressed upon the importance of GIS and Geography is in every industry, especially real estate. She also touched on how quickly her career has progressed over time in this field. Her online and paper maps conveying the current residential and commerical development statuses in Miami was featured at the 2016 & 2018 ESRI GIS User Conference, in San Diego, CA. In 2014, she received the Leidos Employee Spotlight Award. This award is presented to employees that exemplify the organization’s core values through demonstrating a positive attitude and completing projects in a timely and efficient manner. 

EDUCATION

Paris received a Master of Science in Geographic Information Systems and Sustainability Management from the University of Washington, Seattle and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Arizona State University.
