Industry Veteran, Trustee of ASU to Direct Firm's Growth in Dynamic Market

PHOENIX – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the hiring of Bob Mulhern as Managing Director and Market Leader in Arizona. Bringing more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience, leadership expertise and unparalleled relationships to his new role, Mulhern will oversee operations of the Phoenix office, identify and capitalize on opportunities for growth, and collaborate with colleagues around the country to anticipate the needs of the firm’s clients in this dynamic market.

Mulhern joins Transwestern from Colliers, where he was Senior Managing Director, leading a team of more than 120 brokers and staff in Phoenix and Scottsdale. Prior to joining Colliers in 2009, he was President of Reliance Companies, a Phoenix-area office and industrial development and property management firm. He was previously Vice President of Development for Ryan Companies, a national development, design, and property management firm, and Senior Managing Director and designated broker of CBRE’s Phoenix office.
A stalwart member of the Phoenix community, Mulhern has volunteered his time for organizations across a range of areas. He is a Trustee of Arizona State University, where he earned both an MBA and bachelor’s degree in business administration, and currently serves as the president of the ASU Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is a founder and governing board chairman of Great Hearts Arizona, a leading provider of classical education to elementary, middle school and high school learners. Mulhern’s philanthropic work also extends to the Diocese of Phoenix, where he was past president of its finance council, and the Tepeyac Leadership Initiative, where he holds the position of national board president.

Mulhern has received many professional accolades during his career. A member of NAIOP, he has received the organization’s Arizona Lifetime Achievement award as well as six Project of the Year awards. He previously served as chair of the NAIOP education committee and for 14 years as a board member, including president. He was recognized as a top “AzBusiness Leader” by AZ Big Media in 2024 and earlier was named one of “Phoenix’s Most Admired Leaders” by the Phoenix Business Journal. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.
