Bernie specializes in office leasing, representing both landlords and tenants.


Bernie joined Transwestern in September 2008.  His primary responsibilities are cold calling and canvassing major tenants to develop new leads and solidifying relationships with asset managers and developers to strengthen his agency practice. Other responsibilities include the development and execution of marketing strategies for clients and the analysis of vertical profiles of properties within the Northern Virginia and DC markets.
Bernie’s landlord advisory clients have included Brookfield Properties, Penzance, the JBG Companies, Time Equities, Washington Property Company, Guardian Realty, CityLine Partners, TIAA-CREF, Dittmar Company, Transwestern Investment Company, the Illinois State Teachers Retirement System, and Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, Dweck Properties, Rim Pacific Management and the Navy League Building, LLC, Simon Properties Group, AIG, and Guggenheim Partners, LLC.
His tenant clients span a variety of industries comprised of Government Contractors, Law Firms, Financial Institutions, Non-Profits, Staffing Firms, Engineering and Construction Companies to include Contrack Watts, Synexxus, VirPack, Strategic Fixed Income, Halcon Corp., Comm-Works Fortran LLC, Harrity & Harrity LLP, ShounBach, M&T Bank, Randstad Professional, Jordan & Skala Engineers, Comtech LLC, Hall Sickels Frei and Mims, PC, and Leach Travell and Britt, PC.


Bernie is a licensed real estate salesperson in Virginia and the District of Columbia. He is a NAIOP Northern Virginia member, as well as a “Leadership Arlington” member.


Bernie attended Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
