Bernie McKeever Sr.

Bernie is an office specialist focusing on tenant and landlord advisory services of commercial office buildings throughout Northern Virginia. Active in the region’s commercial market since 1983, Bernie has over 35 years of commercial real estate experience and for 28 years has been with Transwestern’s Northern Virginia office.

In the past 20 years, Bernie has negotiated transactions in excess of 10 million square feet of product encompassing over 1,000 assignments. He has been recognized as a member of Transwestern’s Chairman’s Club, honoring the company’s top producers, every year since 1994, including recognition in the 2005, 2006, 2010, 2014, and 2015. Champions Club, which honors the top 25 producers nationally.

Landlord clients have included Midland National Life Insurance, Guggenheim Partners, AIG Insurance, TIAA-CREF, the JBG Companies, Dewberry & Davis, CarrAmerica, State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, Capri Capital Advisors, Teachers Retirement System of Illinois, Transwestern Investment Company, Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers, KBS Realty Advisors, Terrabrook, Westbrook Partners, LaSalle Advisors, Allstate Insurance, PS Business Parks, The Navy League Building, Rim Pacific Investors, BB&T, National Automobile Dealership Association, Northwestern Mutual, Halle Companies, Dweck Properties, Dittmar Company, West*Group, CityLine Partners and Credit Suisse. In 2010, he led the repositioning of West*Group’s 2.4 million SF Tysons Corner portfolio, resulting in its sale to Credit Sussie/DLJ/CityLine Partners.

Bernie serves on the Board of Directors of the Mike Davis Foundation benefiting special education high school students since 1996. He served on the Board of Directors of the Apartment and Office Building Association from 1985 to 1991. He was a volunteer coach for Fairfax County boys’ and girls’ travel soccer and basketball teams from 1991 through 2004. He is the Chairman of Walking With Anthony and Washington Redskins Alumni Charity Celebrity Golf Tournament benefiting spiral cord accident victims since 2011.
