TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Tom Dwyer is vice president and responsible for receivership services at Transwestern.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Prior to joining Transwestern, Tom founded Long Gate Associates, LLC, a commercial real estate and debt advisory firm that works with special servicers, lenders and investors. Before Long Gate, Tom was a Managing Director in CW Capital's CMBS special servicing unit, which handled a nationwide portfolio of commercial loan workouts and REO. He was a member of the management team that oversaw CW's portfolio as it grew from $1 billion to $23 billion. Tom also directed an REO platform that grew to a 500 property, $10 billion portfolio and 50-member asset management team.
 
Tom's 30 years of experience includes serving as an asset manager and Senior Vice President at Allied Capital where he started the company's REO platform, which was responsible for overseeing and engaging property managers and securing receivers for defaulted commercial loans throughout the U.S. Prior to Allied, Tom held positions in property management, loan underwriting, originations, acquisitions, and analytics at various Baltimore-Washington area developers, property managers and lending institutions.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION

Tom cofounded The Johns Hopkins University Forum and is a member of Urban Land Institute, Mortgage Bankers Association and the District of Columbia Building Industry Association. He has also spoken on panels for ULI, NAIOP and Bisnow.

EDUCATION

Tom holds a master's degree in real estate from the Carey Business School at The Johns Hopkins University and a BA in Urban Studies from the University of Maryland.
