HOUSTON – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces that The Mexican, a fine-dining Mexican restaurant, has signed a new lease on the 2.3 million-square-foot, Class A campus, Four Oaks Place, in Uptown. Transwestern’s Crystal Allen and Kim Bernick represented the landlord, Nuveen Real Estate, in the transaction.
The free-standing, 10,000-square-foot restaurant will be constructed in the Central Plaza and is projected to be completed in early 2026. Abel Design Group will serve as the project’s architect.
“Nuveen is proactively embracing the flight to quality,” said Skylar Huth, Director of Workplace, Retail and Mixed-use at Nuveen. “The addition of The Mexican is the result of a years-long strategic plan to ensure the right operator is placed among the existing array of hospitality offerings in Four Oaks Place.”
The Mexican will offer heritage recipes from beloved Mexican favorites from generations past, evolved through bold flavors and made with the highest quality ingredients. The menu will resemble that of the Dallas location but with several Houston-focused additions. Chodrow Realty Advisors’ Chelsea Padon and Alan Chodrow represented the tenant in negotiations.
“The demand for high-quality dining experiences in the city has never been higher,” said Allen. “We sourced potential operators from across the country and are delighted with this addition for Houston.”
