TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Executive Vice President Mike Wiley provides comprehensive, strategic real estate advisory services to help local firms and multi-market account clients meet business objectives, operating requirements and financial goals. As a 22-year veteran of the Washington, D.C., metro area commercial real estate industry, Mike has gained extensive experience in a broad range of services, including lease negotiations, acquisitions, dispositions, relocations and build-to-suit transactions valued at more than $600 million.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Mike began his career in commercial real estate in 1996 at Equis in Atlanta and later that same year transferred to Washington, D.C., to help start the firm’s Washington metro area operations. Through acquisitions, Equis later became DTZ. Prior to joining Transwestern in 2018, Mike served as managing director at Cushman & Wakefield (previously DTZ).
 
Some of his most notable accomplishments include the following:
  • Negotiated the Hanger Corporation’s 80,000-square-foot headquarters relocation from Bethesda, Maryland, to Austin, Texas, creating significant savings for the firm by reducing overall occupancy costs and securing substantial state and municipal incentives.
     
  • Negotiated the Harris Corporation’s 161,359-square-foot consolidation of eight Northern Virginia locations, reducing annual rent by $1 million and creating overall savings in excess of $10 million.
