Steve Brown

Steve is the Senior Managing Director, Tenant Advisory - Healthcare in the Twin Cities area. Steve is recognized as one of the leading healthcare real estate advisors in the Twin Cities market, and his work includes projects involving major hospital systems and multi-clinic private practices navigating the extraordinary changes in healthcare. He provides a comprehensive array of real estate services, including strategic facility planning, property valuation and assessment, strategic site selection, portfolio and transaction management, and patient demography. During his career, he has been involved in traditional leasing, ground up development, property acquisition and disposition, and investment sales of healthcare assets. He is known for his commitment to client advocacy, producing exceptional results tailored to the unique interests and needs of his clients.

Steve has 40 years of experience in the real estate industry. He formed Forte Real Estate Partners in 2021, offering creative solutions to an industry that has unique and specialized needs. Steve joined Transwestern following the company’s purchase of Forte in 2026.

Steve began his career in 1985, working for a boutique real estate company called American Commercial Properties, where he was active in office, industrial and retail real estate brokerage. While there, he also began representing medical practices, a unique niche which steadily continued to grow and expand over the next 15 years. In 2000, he joined United Properties in its Corporate Services Division, where he established a Healthcare Real Estate Advisory practice focusing exclusively on the medical and healthcare sector. Throughout his career he has been considered a thought leader and leading market expert in healthcare real estate.

Steve received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration   from Colorado College. He was awarded his CCIM designation in 1997.
