December 30, 2024
SAN FRANCISCO – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the promotion of Allan Shapiro to Vice President of Construction & Engineering, Asset Services for the firm’s Northern California region. Shapiro provides comprehensive project management services and engineering support for a 121-building portfolio of office and life sciences buildings in a region stretching from Sacramento to San Francisco to Fresno.
In his role, Shapiro collaborates closely with Transwestern’s team of property managers and the firm’s building owner clients, overseeing construction projects ranging from major infrastructure upgrades, energy efficiency initiatives, and building system enhancements to tenant incentive projects. He is deeply involved in creating and implementing preventative maintenance programs that mitigate risk, extend the lifecycle of building systems, ensure regulatory compliance, and help attract and retain new tenants.
“Allan has been a tremendous asset to our team, providing support for our property managers and our clients,” said Blake Peterson, Managing Senior Vice President of Asset Services. “Transwestern’s approach to asset services combines a hospitality mentality with fundamental property operations, which Allan does consistently through his ability to deliver value to both property owners and tenants.”
Bringing 30+ years of commercial real estate and construction experience, Shapiro joined Transwestern in 2022 and has successfully completed more than 100 construction projects during his tenure. Throughout his career, he gained broad knowledge and skills in property and facilities management, having served as Facility Manager at ON Semiconductor and in roles at Swift Real Estate Partners, Carr America/Equity Office Properties and CBRE.
Shapiro earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Arizona State University and a Certified Property Manager certification from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). He holds a California Real Estate Broker License and is a member of IREM and the National Association of Realtors. A third-generation resident of the Bay Area, Shapiro is also active in his community, having served as a board member, including six years as the regional commissioner, for the Foster City AYSO (American Youth Soccer Organization) and building sets for a local theater organization.
