HOUSTON – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces Steve Leathers has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director of Healthcare Capital Markets. In this newly created role, Leathers will apply more than 15 years of leadership experience in capital markets advisory, investment management, and principal acquisitions to maximize outcomes for healthcare clients nationally.
“Steve’s entrepreneurial perspective and collaborative approach will strengthen partnerships with our leading healthcare advisory teams to better service our current and new clients,” said Blake Williams, Transwestern’s Chief Operating Officer for Healthcare Advisory Services. “His extensive healthcare real estate knowledge and financial acumen position our healthcare real estate investor clients to navigate challenging conditions, improve liquidity and capitalize on opportunities.”
Before joining Transwestern, Steve was part of JLL’s healthcare real estate capital markets team in New York, where he specialized in providing capital markets solutions for medical office buildings, inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, acute care hospitals, and other post-acute properties. Steve has advised various institutional owners, including public REITs, private equity, developers, healthcare providers, and private owners on assignments with an aggregate value of over $5.6 billion. He has also held positions at investment management firms Vanbarton Group, LLC, ARC Healthcare Trust, and Grubb & Ellis Realty Investors, which sponsored investment vehicles that acquired and managed healthcare properties.
