WASHINGTON – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) has executed a 20,375-square-foot lease to relocate its headquarters to Franklin Tower, a Class A, 226,530-square-foot office building at 1401 I Street NW in Washington. Transwestern’s Ganon Rich and Eric West provided strategic planning, workplace strategy, tenant representation, and project management services to the nonprofit, facilitating a 15-year lease.
“As CIPE’s real estate partner for over 20 years, we understood the organization’s vision and business goals,” said Rich. “This strategic move enables CIPE to increase its organizational effectiveness by consolidating onto one floor while reducing its annual office space costs by more than 30%.”
Franklin Tower is conveniently situated next to Franklin Park in Washington’s East End submarket, minutes from McPherson Square metro station and surrounded by shopping, entertainment and lodging. The 12-story property features a spacious rooftop deck, expansive views and abundant natural light. Recently renovated, the building’s amenities include a new conference center, tenant lounge and fitness facility and first-floor retail. Notable tenants include Anheuser-Busch Companies, HSBC, Mastercard and Polsinelli PC.
“Franklin Tower’s elevated office environment and exceptional amenities, including the ability to host large meetings in the new conference center, were key factors in CIPE’s decision,” said West. “Furthermore, the property is within two blocks of the nonprofit’s three major partner organizations.”
CBRE’s Mark Klug represented the building owner in the transaction.
