TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Fred Knapp is the Managing Partner of Transwestern Ventures. In this role, Fred is responsible for the strategic direction of the company including establishment of investment strategies, capital formation and oversight of ongoing operations.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Previously, Fred was a Principal and Head of Acquisitions for the Office and Life Science investment platform at EQT Exeter, a global real estate private equity firm with more than $25 billion in real estate assets under management. There, Fred led a team of investment professionals on the acquisition, development and redevelopment of land, office and life science properties. Prior to EQT Exeter, Fred served as Vice President of Investments at Cousins Properties, a publicly traded REIT (NYSE: CUZ), where he oversaw acquisitions, development, asset management, and dispositions of Cousins’ 8 million square foot Class A office holdings in Texas. Before Cousins, Fred worked at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing in New York where he participated in real estate equity investments on behalf of the company’s $5 billion global opportunity fund and $13 billion U.S. core real estate private equity fund. He began his career at the private investment office of (Trammell) Crow Holdings and at Deloitte in the Structured Finance Group. Over the course of his career, Fred has been involved in more than $3 billion of real estate investment transactions across multiple property types and US markets with risk profiles ranging from core to opportunistic. He is a CPA and a Texas Licensed Real Estate Salesperson.
 
Fred currently serves on the Board of Directors for Covenant House Texas, Post Oak Little League and is a past Board Member of Young Life New York. 

EDUCATION

Fred holds an MBA from Columbia Business School with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate and a BBA in Finance and Accounting from Texas A&M University, where he graduated with cum laude honors
