TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Hugh Stewart is the Vice President of Transwestern Ventures. In this role, Hugh is responsible for new investment sourcing, underwriting, closing, and ongoing asset management.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Previously, Hugh was a Vice President at Lazard in their Investment Bank. He covered numerous sectors including Technology, Media & Telecom, Industrials, and Energy. Specifically, he focused on infrastructure and has extensive experience in Mergers & Acquisitions, closing over $10 billion in transactions. Additionally, he previously worked for J.P Morgan in their Energy Investment Bank and successfully executed numerous equity and debt raises. Prior to J.P. Morgan, he worked for GE Aviation and GE Oil & Gas in Corporate Finance. His roles consisted of Financial Planning & Analysis, Supply Chain Finance, Contract Structuring, and Corporate Development and he lived in Cincinnati, Boston, London, and Houston. Hugh is a member of NAIOP and the Commercial Real Estate Developing Leaders program. He is also a board member for the Houston chapter of the Young Professionals in Finance. He previously served as a junior board member for Susan G. Komen’s Austin chapter.

EDUCATION

Hugh holds an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin McCombs School of Business with a concentration in Finance, where he received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence and the Sord Scholar Award. He also holds a BS in Finance from Cornell University, where he played Varsity Football all four years and graduated with cum laude honors. Hugh grew up in Houston where he attended High School at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory.
