Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Based in Transwestern's San Francisco office, Colby is an integral member of the Chicago-based National Net Lease and Sale-Leaseback Group. In his role as director, Colby services a diverse group of institutional and private net-lease property investors in portfolio and single-asset acquisitions and dispositions nationwide, with an emphasis on California and the Western United States.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Active in commercial real estate acquisitions for more than 10 years, Colby excels at matching tenant credit risk (and corresponding yield) to his clients' investment goals. He is adept at evaluating real estate fundamentals and regularly represents clients in the midst of 1031 exchanges.
 
Prior to joining Transwestern, Colby represented buy and sell-side clients in the acquisition and disposition of net leased investments as a member of Cushman & Wakefield's Net Leased Investment Group. In this role, he represented a wide array of clients including merchant developers, family trusts, net lease focused REITs, and business owners.
 
Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Colby served as Acquisitions Director for Skyline Pacific Properties LLC, a private investment firm specializing in net leased investments primarily via sale-leasebacks. Before specializing in net lease, he served as Acquisitions Manager for Adler Realty Investments in Los Angeles, CA. Colby's CRE career began with The Lynxs Group, a private investment firm focused on developing distribution centers on and around major airports. There he was instrumental in forming the partnership which developed the distribution center at Austin Bergstrom International.

Colby holds a real estate licensed in the state of California (LIC# 01900405), and is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).

Colby received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
