Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Paul has been with Transwestern since 2007 and serves as the National GIS Cartography Manager for the company’s Research & Investment Analytics team. Based in Denver, he works on projects across Transwestern’s 33 offices. He helps brokers in all service lines with their clients’ needs, whether it be site selection, commute analysis, demographic data, property marketing or other custom requests. His deliverables include print and online/interactive maps, reports and written analysis. He is passionate about using GIS to answer questions or tell a story with maps but is equally passionate about using cartography to create maps that are easy to understand and aesthetically pleasing.
 
In addition to his GIS and cartography work, he also provides training to other Transwestern team members in using GIS and mapping software.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Paul has over 25 years of experience in mapping. He started his career as a Cartographer working for the educational publisher Nystrom, followed by three years at Encyclopædia Britannica, where he created maps for various print and online products. Prior to joining Transwestern, Paul spent four years at the Chicago Tribune producing maps for the sales and marketing teams with the goal of increasing newspaper revenue and readership.

EDUCATION

Paul received his bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his master’s in geography from the University of South Carolina.
