CHICAGO – Transwestern today announces it has been retained by S. Boehme & Co. to provide exclusive leasing services for The Rookery Building, a historic 288,924-square-foot landmark at 209 S. LaSalle St. in the Central Loop area of Chicago. Transwestern's Eric Myers, Jeff Dowdell and Courtney Rosoff will serve as leasing agents for the property.

"We are excited to work on such a renowned asset in the center of Chicago’s Financial District,” said Myers. “The new spec suites and design standards that have been implemented are reflective of modern tenant needs. Every office in the building has access to natural light, high ceilings and recently upgraded amenities, which is ideal for tenants that want contemporary space in a building with celebrated history and immense character.”

Considered the oldest standing high-rise in Chicago, the 12-story, Class A building was completed by John Wellborn Root and Daniel Burnham of Burnham and Root in 1888 and had its light court and lobbies redesigned by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1905. The building was named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and subsequently designated a Chicago Landmark and National Historic Landmark, one of just over 2,500 structures to earn the distinction. Amenities include on-site management, a bike and runner's room, building conference room and the Burnham Library. Brooks Brothers, U.S. Bank, Verizon Wireless, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Dean Optical and Shop Wright occupy retail space at the property.

The Rookery Building has won multiple awards for its recent lighting design, energy efficiency and management excellence and, in 2014, achieved LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Last year, state-of-the-art elevators were unveiled, and more conferencing space and food amenities will be introduced in 2018.
