Silver Spring, MD. – Transwestern Commercial Services (TCS) today announces it has been retained by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to provide Agency Leasing services for its two office buildings on the Westfield Wheaton property, totaling over 200,000-square-feet of office and medical space in the Washington, D.C., area. The office leasing team is led by TCS Senior Vice President Guy Copperthite and Vice President Joe McCormick.
Located in Wheaton, Maryland, the North Tower at 2730 University Blvd. is a 122,000-square-foot, 11-story building comprised of office and medical uses. The seven-story South Tower at 11002 Veirs Mill Road comprises 88,000-square-feet of office space.
“We are excited to have Transwestern work with us on this assignment,” said Brooke Jones, Manager of Commercial Offices for URW. “We have invested considerable capital and completed extensive renovations to both buildings and continue to improve these assets.”
With proximity to the Wheaton metro, the buildings offer ease of access for commuters. The property also benefits from neighboring conveniences at the Westfield Wheaton Mall, including diverse dining, entertainment and retail offerings. The property also has proximity to Holy Cross Hospital and Wheaton Regional Park.
“These two assets are well-positioned for success,” said Copperthite. “The completion of the Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission’s new Wheaton headquarters in 2020, coupled with Westfield Wheaton’s proximity to the new building and metro, has spurred significant interest in the property. We have already received inquiries from vendors and service providers that need to be located near the new M-NCPPC headquarters.”
Wheaton is situated in Montgomery County, home to approximately 350 cultural groups and 1 million residents who enjoy its nearly 900 restaurants, 22 theaters and 400 parks.
