MINNEAPOLIS – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces that Messerli Kramer (MK) signed a long-term lease at 50 South Sixth, a 29-story office building in Minneapolis’s Central Business District. Transwestern Vice President Trinette Wacker and Principal Reed Christianson represented the asset on behalf of the owner, Mapletree Investments. Transwestern also manages the building.
The firm, which plans to occupy the space in Q3, 2025 is upgrading its facilities in response to record internal growth and a need for a dynamic architectural space that’s more responsive to employee and client needs.
“We’ve been expanding for a few years now,” said Brett Larson, head of the Minneapolis Division of Messerli Kramer. “So, moving represents more than a space. It’s a reflection of our growth and the trajectory MK is on. We couldn’t be more excited to have a new, modern, and expansive office that’s in line with where we’re headed as a law firm.”
Designed with tenant efficiency in mind, 50 South Six has larger-than-traditional floor plates for the market. Tenant amenities include the @9 Lounge and Conference Center, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center. Additionally, tenants enjoy weekly and monthly events as part of the 50 South Sixth Experience Program. Located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, public transportation options include access to the bus line and light rail station. The building is also connected to the Minneapolis Skyway System at four locations.
"We’re thrilled to see tenants commit to growing the vibrant energy of downtown Minneapolis,” said Wacker. “The market is becoming more promising with opportunity, and it’s exciting to match great tenants with spaces that truly meet their needs. It is encouraging to see downtown continue to bounce back, and offer a mix of new business, culture, and community that makes it an incredible place to live, work, and grow."
50 South Sixth was designed by architect Peter Van Cechten of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill and opened in 2001, making it one of the newest Class A buildings in Minneapolis.
Messerli Kramer was represented by brokers David Buyse and Rory Johnson of Corporate Tenant Advisors.
