LOS ANGELES – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces that 801 Tower, a Class A office tower located at 801 S Figueroa St., has earned a Fitwel® 1 Star rating, demonstrating commitment to advancing occupant well-being by implementing health-promoting design and operational strategies. Transwestern General Manager Neal Perkey manages the 25-story, 465,222-square-foot asset owned by Barings, one of the world’s largest diversified real estate investment managers, on behalf of institutional investors.

“Our team is thrilled to have earned the Fitwel 1 Star rating at 801 Tower,” said Dave Rock, Executive Vice President at Transwestern. “Transwestern is deeply committed to implementing sustainable initiatives for our tenants, and this award recognizes our dedication to enhancing the occupant experience by prioritizing health and well-being.”

Administered by the Center for Active Design, Fitwel is the world’s leading certification system for building health. With certifications for properties in over 180 countries, they rate each building by a standardized scale of one to three stars.

The Fitwel scoring process assesses the performance of a built environment according to 12 categories that improve occupant health and productivity. Some of the many achievements 801 Tower was recognized for include walkability and proximity to transit; robust outdoor space availability; a comprehensive Green Purchase Policy; informative health programs for tenants and employees; a comprehensive emergency preparedness plan; and an Indoor Air Quality policy, which means that building management monitors indoor air quality for optimal levels of fresh air, temperature, and humidity, as well as pollutants.
