Houston and Chicago – Commercial real estate firm Transwestern and Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) today announce a national partnership to support the philanthropic organization’s mission to improve the health and well-being of children and their families.

Transwestern has committed to raise funds to support RMHC core programs, including the Ronald McDonald House®, Ronald McDonald Family Room®,  and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®. Transwestern team members also will volunteer their time and talents at Ronald McDonald House programs across the country to help offset operational costs, allowing the Charity to direct more donations back to programs supporting children and their families.

“In selecting a national philanthropic partner, we felt it was important that the organization’s values closely match our own, and working alongside the highly regarded Ronald McDonald House Charities underscores the value both organizations place on families,” said Larry P. Heard, Transwestern CEO. “Supporting those in need has always been an important part of Transwestern’s culture, and when in pursuit of a shared goal, our 2,100 team members do extraordinary things together.”

Transwestern has a long history of giving back to the communities in which it serves. Team members are encouraged to take paid time off each year to serve a charitable cause of their choice, resulting in outreach to more than 350 nonprofit causes across the country. A national philanthropy partner was added in 2016 as a way to unite the entire company around a common objective.

“The work we do on behalf of children and their families would not be possible without the tremendous support of our partners,” said Sheila Musolino, President and CEO of RMHC. “Transwestern’s commitment to our mission helps RMHC provide a supportive environment so families can focus on the care of their child and give them what they need most – each other.”

From 2016 to 2019, Transwestern partnered with Make-A-Wish® to raise more than $550,000, granting 52 wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses. It hopes to capitalize on this momentum to deliver results for RMHC both financially and through in-person voluteerism.

Internal and external marketing campaigns and national fundraisers are among the activities planned, including the ever-popular “Blue Friday,” where team members can make a financial donation in exchange for a Friday afternoon off during the holidays. Other initiatives will include teams volunteering at local Ronald McDonald House programs, on-site activities at Transwestern-managed properties, and events with clients, partners and friends of the firm.
