WASHINGTON – Transwestern and KBS today announce the companies have partnered for a second year to support Wreaths Across America, an organization that honors fallen U.S. veterans by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,200 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad. Volunteers place a live balsam wreath on every headstone and are encouraged to say that veteran’s name aloud as an act of respect, gratitude and remembrance.
“We are proud to once again partner with KBS and support Wreaths Across America in honoring the men and women who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Chip Clarke, Transwestern President ¦ Americas. “In 2016, we were able to pay tribute to more than 6,000 veterans with wreaths through this initiative, and we hope to honor even more service men and women this year.”
From Oct. 26 to Nov. 27, the companies are collecting donations for wreaths at 31 KBS properties across the country where Transwestern provides property management services. For every wreath purchased through Transwestern and KBS’ fundraising efforts, the companies will make a matching donation up to 2,000 wreaths. Wreaths Across America will receive 100 percent of the donations.
“Wreaths Across America offers a way to remember our fallen veterans, honor those who serve and teach future generations the value of freedom,” said Marc DeLuca, KBS Eastern Regional President. “We’re thankful for our tenants who generously supported this cause last year and look forward to their support this holiday season.”
Donations can be made online at http://twurls.com/wreaths2017, with $15 purchasing one wreath. Volunteers can also sign up online for National Wreaths Across America Day, which will be held Saturday, Dec. 16.
