Houston – Transwestern today announces Larry P. Heard, CEO of the Transwestern family of companies, has been honored as one of the “Most Admired CEOs” by the Houston Business Journal. The inaugural list recognized 35 business leaders and 13 nonprofit leaders, all of whom will be honored at a luncheon on Aug. 23 and featured in a special edition of the publication.
“This recognition is really a reflection of Transwestern’s unique corporate culture and common purpose of empowering good people to do extraordinary things together,” said Heard. “It is also inspiring to see so many elite leaders honored who faithfully serve their organizations and enrich the Houston community through their efforts.”
Appointed CEO in 2002, Heard has orchestrated the growth of the Transwestern family of companies, comprised of Transwestern Commercial Services, Transwestern Development Co. and Transwestern Investment Group, from 1,140 team members to more than 2,300 team members in 35 cities nationwide. In that time, the firm’s portfolio under lease or management has grown from 88 million square feet to approximately 396 million square feet. Along with his partners and leadership team, Heard started the development company in 2013 and the investment management business in 2011, which now boast $3.3 billion and $4.4 billion in assets under management, respectively.
