Former Chicago Cares CEO Joins Transwesterns Tenant Advisory Group in Chicago
January 05, 2022
CHICAGO – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces the addition of Jenné Myers to the firm’s Tenant Advisory + Workplace Solutions group as Senior Vice President of Strategic Solutions. Based in Chicago, Myers will serve clients nationwide, providing tenant representation and advisory services for real estate occupiers, with an emphasis on nonprofits, government organizations and corporations.
“Jenné is a proven leader and has been a driving force behind various nonprofit and government agencies across Chicago, making her an invaluable asset to Transwestern,” said Executive Managing Director Larry Serota. “She takes a dynamic approach to relationship building and is able to orchestrate meaningful connections among leaders from numerous industries. I can’t think of a better person to bolster Transwestern’s capacity to provide creative real estate solutions that will further the missions of organizations nationwide.”
Myers joins Transwestern after eight years as the CEO of Chicago Cares, a nonprofit organization that connects prospective volunteers with opportunities across the city. During her tenure, she developed innovative programming, diversified revenue streams with new funding models, expanded the existing board and established annual events to reach new audiences. In 2010, Myers was appointed by then-Mayor Richard M. Daley as Chief Service Officer for Chicago’s participation in Cities of Service, a national civic initiative. Earlier in her career, Myers served as the Executive Director of Working in the Schools (WITS); was the assistant to Maggie Daley, First Lady, City of Chicago; and served as a member of the advance staff for Mayor Daley.
"I am thrilled to join Transwestern, where I can continue to support the nonprofit community while also advising organizations spanning an array of industries by applying my first-hand understanding of how real estate can impact the success of an organization," said Myers. "I look forward to working with a team dedicated to providing solutions that strengthen and uphold organizations’ mission, goals and culture.”
Myers’ role includes serving on Transwestern’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion team in Chicago, where she will assist in developing strategies to advance goals of awareness, training, talent and belonging, and collaborating with Transwestern affiliate OPEN Impact Real Estate, a woman-owned business that delivers a range of commercial real estate advisory services, with a focus on supporting social-minded, mission-driven companies.
A Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow since 2017, Myers is an active member of Chicago’s nonprofit community, currently serving as a board member of the Chicago Learning Exchange and a mentor at LINK Unlimited. She previously served on the boards of Points of Light, Mikva Challenge and the Serve Illinois Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service. Myers received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Michigan State University.
