The labor market is extremely competitive, employees expect flexible work arrangements, and companies are looking to achieve efficiencies and cost savings from their physical space. While the majority of organizations have not aligned on a post-Covid work model, they do agree on one thing: The importance of retaining the existing workforce and attracting new talent. Decentralizing the office through two micro-location strategies – hub and spoke and labor catchment – can help employers increase retention and decrease attrition of their existing workforce. Additionally, these strategies can help to recruit future talent in an increasingly tight labor market – a trend that shows no signs of reversing over the coming decade.
