Transwestern Brokers Disposition of 33,934 SF MOB in Morrow, Georgia

ATLANTA – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces it has brokered the disposition of Southlake Medical Plaza, a 33,934-square-foot property at 6635 Lake Drive in Morrow, Georgia. Transwestern Senior Managing Director Kevin Markwordt, CCIM and Managing Director John V. Lopez, CCIM, RPA represented the undisclosed seller in the transaction to Clayton County Board of Education for $3.2 million.
“We are thrilled to achieve a win-win for our client and the community within months of taking the property to the market,” said Lopez. “We believe the sale represents the asset’s highest and best use given the major investments Clayton County Board of Education has been making in the immediate area.”
The 3.89-acre property is adjacent to Southlake Mall, a regional shopping center anchored by Macy’s. Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) purchased the former Sears department store on the mall property in 2021, announcing plans to invest $50 million to transform the space into a 7,000-seat arena. CCPS is the fifth-largest school district in the state with more than 52,000 students.

The buyer was represented in the transaction by Diana Campbell, CCIM, Senior Partner and Associate Broker at Dudley Thomas Spade SRE.
