Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Karen joined Transwestern in 2007. She directs all advertising, market research, public relations and marketing efforts for Transwestern’s Austin office. She is also responsible for client and customer relations as well as new business development. Karen works alongside the leasing and sales producers and senior leadership on the strategic development and implementation of Austin’s marketing plan, ensures compliance with the Central Texas Region and corporate marketing initiatives, and extends guidance to local media in editorial development.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Karen has more than 25 years of experience in commercial real estate. Prior to joining Transwestern, Karen served as the marketing director for CarrAmerica Realty Corporation where she was responsible for coordinating the marketing and deal tracking for CarrAmerica’s assets in the Midwest Region - including Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and Salt Lake City - totaling approximately 9 million square feet of commercial office space. Karen previously served as the leasing coordinator for Prentiss Properties, assisting with the marketing and lease administration for its Austin assets including the development of the 850,000 square foot Barton Skyway office project in Southwest Austin.  Prior to her position at Prentiss Properties, Karen served as the office manager for Blake Realty Advisors Inc., a boutique tenant representation brokerage in Austin.

Karen received Transwestern’s Team Support Person of the Year in 2007 and Transwestern’s Outstanding Achievement Award in 2008. In 2010, Karen received the Central Texas Region’s Legendary Service Award, and in 2014 she received the Doug Dwyer Servant Leader Award.
