Biography
TRANSWESTERN ROLE
As a Lead Building Engineer, Jorge oversees daily building operations with a focus on efficiency and reliability. He manages chiller, electrical, and plumbing systems and overall building performance while addressing tenant work orders promptly. With a hands-on approach and a mindset rooted in leadership, Jorge ensures the building operates at its best every day.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Jorge began working with Transwestern in 2022. He previously held roles at ABM Engineering where he managed One World Trade Center in Long Beach, California. This asset was a 27-story, 600-000 square foot development composed of Class A office space, retail space and parking. He was responsible for ensuring cohesion between the engineering team and building management while overseeing, coordinating, inspecting and maintaining building operations along with new constructions.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION
Jorge was a recipient of the Transwestern Rising Star Award in 2023. He holds multiple industry certifications, including Automotive ASE, EPA Universal 608, EPA 410A, OSHA 30, a Type L Fire Pump License, LEED Certification, and earned his BOMA Engineer Certification in 2022.
EDUCATION
Jorge graduated with honors from Summit College’s one-year HVAC program and later completed the Los Angeles Trade Technical College Local 501 Apprenticeship Program. His studies focused on Energy Management, Electrical Construction & Maintenance, Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Steam Plant Operations. Additional coursework included Introduction to Business, Plumbing Code and Electrical Code.
