John is an executive vice president with Transwestern’s occupier solutions group in Chicago where he co-leads a team serving the Downtown Chicago market. John’s experience as a leasing broker gives him a unique understanding of the entire transaction, and distinct advantages in creating leverage when negotiating on behalf of tenants.


During his 38-year career, Mr. Ziesmer has focused on providing strategic real estate planning and site selection to service firms in law, accounting, investment banking, corporations, hospitals, and not-for-profits throughout Chicago and the Midwest.  Prior to joining Transwestern, he was with Avison Young as a Principal from 2011-2018. Grubb & Ellis from 2007-2011, and Trammell Crow Company from 2004-2007. Previous of his appointment at Trammell Crow, he was a member of Savills Studley’s tenant representation team for 14 years.

John received a bachelor’s degree in finance, with honors, from the University of Illinois and a MBA in Finance, with distinction from DePaul University. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois.
