TRANSWESTERN ROLE

John Melody is a Senior Vice President in Transwestern’s Debt and Equity Placement group, where he is responsible for raising capital on behalf of buyers, developers and owners of commercial real estate across the United States. John works closely with a broad range of capital sources including banks, life insurance companies, debt funds, CMBS lenders, private equity firms and GSEs to provide optimal financing solutions for institutional and private clients.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

John has been involved in more than $3 billion of commercial real estate financings, including acquisitions, refinancings, recapitalizations and development transactions. He has experience across multifamily, industrial, retail and office properties and works closely with institutional and private clients to deliver tailored capital solutions through relationships with banks, life companies, debt funds and the GSEs.

Prior to joining Transwestern in 2026, John was a Director on the Capital Markets team at Walker & Dunlop, where he focused on sourcing, structuring, and executing debt and equity financings. He previously served as an Associate in Real Estate Investment Banking at JLL, underwriting and sourcing transactions across all major property types and began his career at Cadence Bank underwriting commercial real estate lending opportunities.

John earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.
