Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

A seasoned professional with over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, John is accomplished in all areas of the industry including development, brokerage, sales, finance, and construction. As the Managing Director of Retail Services, John oversees the leasing and marketing of all Minnesota properties in Transwestern’s retail portfolio.
 
His diligence and extensive knowledge of the marketplace have resulted in the sale or leasing of over 10 million square feet of retail/commercial space since 1990, and in the sale or purchase of approximately 370 acres of commercial land.
 
John is also active in the investment sales sector, having been involved in the sale of approximately 12 shopping centers exceeding 1,200,000 square feet. 
 
Additionally, John is the principal, owner, and developer of a retail portfolio of roughly 1.2 million square feet. The properties are located throughout the Twin Cities metro area and in the California central valley.  Including the currently owned portfolio, John has developed roughly three million square feet of retail space.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

A Prior to joining Transwestern, John was with Colliers International and Trammell Crow Corporation. His primary focus had been on the real estate brokerage needs of clients such as Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Home Depot, Kohl’s and Men’s Wearhouse.
