Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Hector is an Operations Manager for Transwestern. In this role, he supervises building maintenance, coordinates tenant build-outs, directs all maintenance and engineering staff, and is an expert on numerous engineering issues. He oversees the maintenance and operations of almost 800,000 square feet of industrial and office space in South Florida.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Hector has over 23 years of experience as a chief engineer and operations manager in the South Florida area, with an extensive understanding of tenant improvement (TI). He has planned and directed multiple major capital projects, including elevator modernization and roof/chiller replacements, ensuring all projects were completed on time and within budget. Hector also has in-depth knowledge of service coordination, contract administration, engineering staff training, quality control, construction and building startups, and partner relations. He has worked on a portfolio, including Class A commercial buildings and industrial properties.
 
A South Florida resident for over 30 years, Hector started his professional career as a maintenance technician in the Coral Gables office buildings in 1995. He also worked as regional chief engineer, where he controlled, directed, administered, and coordinated all engineering operations, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems for various properties in the area.

EDUCATION

Hector holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Florida International University. He also received his Real Property Administrator (RPA), System Maintenance Administrator (SMA) and System Maintenance Technician (SMT) designations from the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI).
