Transwestern’s Chicago office has had a long-standing relationship with The Greater Chicago Food Depository and hosts a team event each summer that brings together dozens of Transwestern volunteers at the organization’s 268,000-square-foot facility  to pack provisions for those who are food insecure. While that event couldn’t happen this summer, Senior Vice President Mike Cello felt called to serve during this critical time for the nonprofit. He has shown up every Tuesday and Thursday morning since March to lend a hand repacking food for delivery. In addition, Mike is a member of the steering committee for the GCFD’s annual commercial real estate awards dinner, a much-anticipated event each year that draws almost 2,000 industry members and raises over $1.5 million to fund 4.5 million meals. The in-person event was canceled for 2020 but hopefully will be back in full swing next year!
