Tom Wanberg

Tom Wanberg is a senior vice president and team leader in the Multi Housing Investment Group in Denver. He specializes in the sale of apartment communities, primary focused on representing private capital apartment owners in Colorado.

Tom has spent more than 35 years serving clients as an Investment Services Specialist. Prior to joining Transwestern in 2012, Tom worked for Denver’s Grubb & Ellis Company for 27 years.  Through the years Tom has represented clients on a variety of investment properties, but his “sweet spot” has always been the sale of apartment properties. Tom has closed on 350 multifamily properties during his career, specializing in private capital transactions from 100 to 300 units in size.

 

Having continuously owned residential rentals himself since 1977, Tom’s unique insight into how an owner thinks as an invaluable asset for any of his team’s clients. Once his team has a seller listing, he attends all buyer visits, including due diligence inspections. With his eyes on the intricate details, Tom can help overcome buyer objections prior to them surfacing, and help his sellers know the truth of what the buyers are seeing and thinking.

During Tom’s lengthy career he has been recognized for many production awards, including 2017 Producer of the Year in the Denver Transwestern Office. He has consistently ranked in the top 10% of Denver brokers in his office over his entire work career.

 

Outside interests include over 20 years of mentoring high school students. For the last 8 years, Tom has taken a summer excursion for 10-days with 25-30 Denver students to service at Camp Barnabas in Missouri. Campers at this sports camp are people with special needs and chronic illnesses. Tom is an avid swimmer, and enjoys biking, skiing and nature hikes.  

Tom earned his Bachelor of Science in business marketing from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He has been a licensed real estate broker in the state of Colorado since 1977.
