Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Lou is the Chief Engineer of The Dayton’s Project, a 1.2-million-square-foot lifestyle office property located in downtown Minneapolis. In this role, he is responsible for all day-to-day physical building and related support systems. He works directly with property management in implementing and maintaining the energy management system, preventative maintenance, quality standards, operating objectives, and goals of the owner and Transwestern.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Lou has over 40 years of experience in the building maintenance field in several diverse business sectors. He has previously been a chief engineer and assistant chief engineer at multiple class A office buildings. He also has experience working in the education sector, having worked as a crew leader for a large school district with a focus on implementing OSHA regulations for more than 50 district-owned buildings. He worked in an ISO 9001-certified manufacturing plant where he was a member of the maintenance team, a lead on the Lean Manufacturing and Continual Improvement team and served as a first responder for the plant. He also worked for a health care clinic system as a maintenance engineer serving several clinics in the western region of Wisconsin. Additionally, he worked several years in the assisted living industry as Director of Engineering for a large senior living high-rise building.

EDUCATION

Lou has training in multiple areas including EMT and first responder training asbestos worker, supervisor and inspector training, and holds CPO, EPA – CFC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA 10 certifications. He is a licensed System Maintenance Technician and Systems Maintenance Administrator. Lou also holds a Chief Engineer- Grade Cm Stationary Engineers license.
