John serves as the General Manager of Chicago's main civic center, the Richard J. Daley Center. In this role, John handles municipal, retail and office needs while ensuring smooth building operations for tenants, visitors and staff. John oversees the coordination of events inside the building and on the 88,000-square-foot Daley Plaza, supervises building personnel and contractors, and helps with leasing efforts. He is also responsible for the accounting reporting functions, and he maintains and develops relationships with building tenants, along with the City of Chicago and Cook County agencies.

John has over 25 years of facilities management experience and has been with the Daley Center for eight years. During his time as Assistant General Manager and now General Manager, John has assisted with and initiated numerous projects that have reduced costs, helped drive revenue and increased vendor relationships. Under his leadership, the Daley Center has led successful minority- and women-owned business open-house events. During the pandemic, John worked with vendors and tenants to coordinate the cleaning and disinfecting of areas.
John continues the strategic planning for sustainability efforts and acts as incident commander. Before joining the Daley Center team, John was the Assistant General Manager at 181 West Madison, a 50-floor office building in Chicago’s central business district. Prior to 2013, John was Vice President of Real Estate and Facilities at a major global commodities brokerage firm, where he managed buildouts of office space and handled worldwide facility-related capital projects from site selection to first-day operation. John’s overall career experience has taught him to see the big picture while making him adept at handling day-to-day minutiae.
