Houston – Transwestern Commercial Services (TCS) today announces its sponsorship of 28 children through the SEARCH Homeless Holiday Wish List Program. The initiative coordinates sponsors like Transwestern to fulfill the holiday wish list of children enrolled in SEARCH Homeless Services at the nonprofit’s House of Tiny Treasures or one of its housing programs.
This year, sponsors fulfilled a total of 245 wish lists, with Transwestern responsible for fulfilling the wish lists of one out of every nine children enrolled in the program. SEARCH provided the wish lists, which included items such as toys and clothing. Volunteers at Transwestern then selected and provided specific items they wished to donate.
Founded in 1989, SEARCH Homeless Services began as Houston’s only daytime shelter, offering basic support services including showers, laundry, and hot meals. Over the course of 30 years, SEARCH has become the city’s leading organization in helping vulnerable individuals take action and achieve stability. SEARCH’s efforts have extended beyond meeting basics needs to working to help clients obtain permanent housing, increase their income, improve their health and rebuild a sense of community and interdependence.
