Inaugural Over The Edge Fundraiser Nets $156,000 for Life-Changing Wishes

Atlanta – Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces its East Region President and Make-A-Wish® Georgia Board Chair Bruce Ford rappelled 22 stories down the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel, raising over $10,000 to fulfill wishes for Georgia families. Ford joined 56 participants who raised at least $1,000 each to earn a spot in Make-A-Wish Georgia’s inaugural Over The Edge event.
“The strength and resiliency of the children Make-A-Wish supports gave me the courage to rappel down the building,” said Ford. “I’m thankful for the generosity of my Transwestern colleagues, friends and family members who supported my efforts to help Make-A-Wish Georgia deliver 1,000 wishes by the end of 2022.”
The Over The Edge campaign gave up to 80 people who raised $1,000 or more an opportunity to rappel 22 stories down the side of the InterContinental Buckhead Atlanta hotel. The event raised nearly $160,000 to fulfill wishes for local children facing critical illnesses.
“It was such a great day! So many people came out to fundraise and rappel. Some did it for the thrill and others did it to overcome fears - everyone did it to help us grant more wishes for Georgia kids,” said Tim Earley, Make-A-Wish Georgia CEO. “I am so proud to be a part of this community where people like Bruce and the Transwestern team consistently go above and beyond for the kids we serve.”
Since selecting Make-A-Wish as its Southeast philanthropy partner in 2013 and national partner in 2018, Transwestern has raised more than $550,000 through internal and external fundraising activities. Ford was appointed to the nonprofit’s board of directors in 2017 and elected its chairman in 2020.
