Partnership Exemplifies Transwesterns Commitment to Social Responsibility

September 04, 2024

ATLANTA - Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announces that through East Region President Bruce Ford’s leadership on Make-A-Wish® Georgia’s board of directors, the nonprofit has granted 2,678 wishes over the past seven years. Ford has served on the Georgia chapter’s board since 2017 and has been board chair since 2020.

“It has been both a privilege and honor to steer the Make-A-Wish Georgia board over the past four years and create unforgettable experiences for children and families in our communities,” said Ford. “Supporting our neighbors is a core tenant of Transwestern’s caring culture and my personal passion. I’m proud of our local, regional and national teams for their commitment to championing the Make-A-Wish mission of transforming lives and uplifting communities.”

During his board tenure, Ford’s fundraising efforts have exceeded campaign goals. He was one of the first volunteers to rappel down the side of a 22-story building as part of the Over the Edge event and led a 60% increase in money raised for the annual Waiting for Wishes fundraiser during the pandemic. Ford and Transwestern were instrumental in making Walk for Wishes the highest-earning peer-to-peer fundraising event for the Georgia chapter. Since 2018, Transwestern has raised more than $550,000 for Make-A-Wish through internal and external fundraising activities.

“Bruce has been an amazing leader for our organization. Taking the helm at the start of the pandemic, Bruce provided the guidance and the autonomy necessary for staff to navigate this disruptive time, ultimately emerging as an even better organization,” said Tim Early, Make-A-Wish Georgia CEO. “Under his leadership, we have realized record revenue growth, ultimately leading to more wishes granted every year.  We will close out Bruce’s final year granting a new record of at least 500 wishes for Georgia kids.  On behalf of the Georgia Chapter, our board of directors, and all the wish families throughout our state, we are thankful to Bruce for his life-changing impact on so many.”

In addition to his work for Make-A-Wish, Ford is past Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Holy Innocents Episcopal Church and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Buckhead Coalition. As Transwestern’s East Region President, he oversees operational excellence, client service delivery, and business development initiatives for the commercial services business in 11 offices across Massachusetts, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, New York, and the District of Columbia. He also serves on Transwestern's Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
