Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Walter Nolasco is chief of operations at Metro Park, a portfolio of seven Class A buildings in Northern Virginia, and has been with Transwestern for 4 years. He evaluates functioning environments of equipment, verifies proper preventive maintenance procedures, performs inspections, and assists a team of engineers in various issues and projects. He provides expertise on new tenant construction, HVAC, electrical and plumbing upgrades and retrofits. Additionally, he is directly involved in assessing and budgeting repairs and replacements, as well as work on capital improvement projects.
 
Walter is also a member of the Transwestern Regional Engineering Committee, a team that assists with all engineering operations, technical support, and training for engineers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Before joining Transwestern, Walter held senior and chief engineering positions for more than 15 years with The John Akridge Company. He also previously served in other HVAC service and engineer capacities for companies throughout the Washington, D.C., metro area and has completed training courses with Liebert, Honeywell, Trane, York, Copeland Engineering and McQuay International.

EDUCATION

Walter received an AAS degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Northern Virginia Community College and holds a Master HVAC license in Maryland and Virginia. He holds the Facilities Management Administrator (FMA) and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA) designations from the Building Owners and Managers Institute. He is a licensed 1st Class Operating Engineer in Maryland and a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer in Washington, D.C.
