Scott Fitzgerald is the executive managing principal for Transwestern Strategic Partners which manages Transwestern Investment Group's discretionary funds. He is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the private equity investment management business and its institutional real estate investment funds. Scott provides leadership to the team in formulating and consistently implementing the unique investment strategies for each fund and maintains direct involvement in the identification, evaluation, structuring and execution of investments.
Scott is a highly regarded industry veteran who has established a successful investment track record, leading teams at several recognized investment management organizations. Scott spent 10 years in private equity real estate with Rockpoint Group and its predecessor firm, Westbrook Real Estate Partners. He served as a Managing Principal and a member of the Investment Committee for both firms. During his tenure, the two firms successfully raised and invested five separate private equity funds with $5 billion in equity and total capitalization of $19 billion. The broad investment spectrum of these funds included investments in office, industrial, multifamily, retail, hospitality and residential land assets and various real estate operating companies.
After leaving Rockpoint, Scott became a partner in Cardinal Paragon, which is a private wealth management and real estate investment entity created for several clients who invested in diverse assets, both domestic and foreign. Scott added value in both acquisitions and dispositions. One highlight was his instrumental role in the successful disposition of a $950 million portfolio of highly levered net-leased office assets in Sweden, Finland, and Norway.
Prior to Westbrook, Mr. Fitzgerald served as portfolio manager of J.E. Robert Companies, where he was responsible for a commercial real estate portfolio in one of the early Whitehall Funds valued at over $1 billion.
Scott received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Olivet Nazarene College in 1986 and an M.B.A. from Indiana University Graduate School of Business in 1988.
