Biography

TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Sam is currently responsible for overseeing the management and leasing of an office/flex and industrial portfolio in Southern California and Nevada, consisting of approximately 5 million square feet. Adept in lease negotiation and client relations, and with over 16 years of experience in commercial real estate, Sam specializes in tenant retention and asset stabilization.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Prior to joining Transwestern, Sam was a senior leasing/property manager and assistant vice president at RREEF/Deutsche Bank. In this role, he oversaw the management an industrial portfolio in the South Bay along with a team of brokers and property management staff. His responsibilities included tenant renewals, budget creation and implementation, strategic property planning, vendor management and overseeing all capital improvements. His team completed an average of 60 leasing transactions per year and consistently outperformed the market on rental growth. Under his management, Kingsley Associates awarded the portfolio high scores on both Tenant Responses and Tenant Satisfaction.
 
Sam previously served on the corporate services team at Coldwell Banker Commercial Westmac, where he specialized in office and industrial tenant representation. Sam conducted lease negotiations, assisted in facility acquisitions/dispositions and administered lease and market analyses for a number of corporate clients including Danone, La Brea Bakery and the State of California.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION

Sam is an active member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and has previously served as chair of the national education committee as well as Orange County chapter president.

EDUCATION

Sam received his bachelor's degree in communications from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He is a Certified Property Manager (CPM®) and a licensed real estate professional in the state of California.
