The Rookery located at 209 South LaSalle in Chicago, IL is regarded as an architectural masterpiece. Completed in 1888, by Daniel Burnham and John Root, it is one of the world’s first skyscrapers, and was designated a Chicago landmark in 1972. It was here that Burnham and Root planned The White City of the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. The Rookery has been admired for its rich ornamental masonry facade and the intricate detailing of its light court and oriel staircase. The light court, originally conceived by Burnham and Root, was later reimagined by Frank Lloyd Wright. A meticulous restoration of The Rookery further polished the building’s reputation, and a program of continuous enhancement assures its rich history will go on. The Rookery has evolved into a tech-enabled, sustainable LEED Gold off­ice building. Recent technology upgrades include state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, fully managed Class A telecom service, WI-FI in the lobby and common areas, and in-building Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) for enhanced cellular phone service. Destination elevators and online visitor registration with digital credentials provide convenience and security. Redundant ComEd feeds from three substations ensure business continuity 24/7.

In addition to the historic Burnham Library, equipped with modern audio visual and WI-FI, The Rookery’s lobby includes a mix of retailers, including Brooks Brothers, Go Wright, US Bank, Verizon, Potbelly restaurant, and Dean Optical. The Runner’s & Bike Room was recently completed and furnished with lockers and spa level finished showers. For more lunch options, the new Revival Food Hall right around the corner is filled with 15+ delicious local food stands. Tenants also benefit from a special partnership with the JW Marriott across the street, for the use of a fully-equipped fitness center, spa, and conferencing facilities.
