The goal of this engagement is to help develop a Capital Implementation Strategy that is responsive to the Facility Assessment Plan on both the Memorial and Shoreline campuses. The strategy should look at prioritizing and bundling capital projects so construction and phasing economies may be realized while minimizing the facility investment plan as much as possible over a 5 to 7 year duration. We looked to maximize the impact each item has on the overall utility of the hospitals. In addition to achieving an appropriate Facility Condition Index over the time period noted and minimizing “throwaway” capital investments. The strategy strives to maintain a stable repair backlog or at least avoid a significant increase and be a bridging plan until such time that a Master Plan can be completed and a City wide campus renewal plan realized.
