Meredith is the National Content Writer, part of the National Marketing team, and is responsible for researching and writing communications that support the brand recognition and business development goals of Transwestern. She will write and develop content and communications including thought leadership pieces, blogs, social media content, internal communications like The Connection newsletter, and provide content support for marketing collateral.


Meredith has spent more than 10 years as a writer for nearly every kind of publication and writing style, from travel writing to business blogging to local Houston politics. She has also worked in a variety of marketing and content marketing roles and brings a unique blend of both journalism and marketing experience to the National Marketing Team at Transwestern.
Prior to joining Transwestern, she was a full-time freelance journalist for Reform Austin, a daily Texas-focused news blog, and the Content Coordinator at Vanderbloemen Search Group, a top executive search firm for values and faith-based businesses and organizations.
She has also written content for Prairie View A&M University Communications, Sam Houston State University’s Today@Sam, Community Impact Newspaper, SHSU’s Heritage Alumni Magazine, and the Huntsville Item. In addition to her own bylines, she has created collaborative thought leadership content for publications like Forbes and The Houston Chronicle.  


Meredith is an active member of the following organizations:
  • Life Member of the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association
  • Sojourn Houston Collective
She is also a supporter of and volunteer with Young Life Greater Houston, Friends for Life Animal Shelter, Fostering Family, and Houston Welcomes Refugees. During her time at Sam Houston, she was an Ambassador for the university through the Elliott T. Bowers Honors College, a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society, and a student writer in the Marketing and Communications office in the Division of University Advancement.


Meredith has a degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Print Journalism from Sam Houston State University.
