TRANSWESTERN ROLE

As Director of Research for the New Jersey office, Matthew delivers local and national commercial real estate and economic trends, analyses and reports to team members, clients, prospects and the media. Matthew also plays an integral role in expanding the marketing platform and collaborates with sales professionals, research colleagues and marketing teams to retain clients and secure new business through new pitches, RFPs and presentations.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Matthew joined Transwestern in 2014 from Avison Young, where, as vice president of research, he created the annual research plan for the New Jersey office and delivered insight related to economic activity, forecasts, trends and commercial real estate market conditions. He also developed and maintained relationships with clients, providing them with market intelligence. Additionally, Matthew collaborated with colleagues regionally and nationally, local research experts and economic development agencies. Matthew’s career in real estate spans from 1995, previously leading similar roles with Colliers International, GVA Williams and Sitar Realty Company.
 
Matthew is recognized throughout the commercial real estate industry as a leading provider of research and statistical information. He has provided editorial and quotations for print and online media including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Real Estate Forum, New York Real Estate Journal, Real Estate Weekly, National Real Estate Investor, NJBIZ, Real Estate New Jersey, ROI-NJ, New Jersey Business Magazine, France Media, Inc., The Record, CoStar Advisor, GlobeSt.com and CBSNews.com. Matthew has also written commentary for Urban Land Institute’s Market Profiles Report.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION

Matthew is a member of NAIOP and the CoStar Advisory Board for New Jersey.
In his national leadership role at Transwestern, he has received awards for cross-market project collaboration, thought leadership advancement, and public relations achievements in promoting the company’s service capabilities.

EDUCATION

Matthew received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Saint Peter’s College where he also earned membership in Pi Mu Epsilon, a national honorary mathematics society. Matthew also holds a New Jersey Real Estate Salesperson’s license.
