Matt promotes the firm as a thought leader in the commercial real estate industry through external and internal communications, print and online collateral and business development materials. 

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

Matt worked in journalism for 25 years before joining Transwestern. Based in Austin, Texas, he most recently worked as a freelance reporter specializing in commercial real estate and writing for top-tier news outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Shopping Centers Today, Real Estate Forum, Real Assets Adviser, National Real Estate Investor, Commercial Investment Real Estate and more.
 
Matt covered the real estate and downtown beats for the Austin Business Journal from 1997 to 2003. Previously, he served as the city government reporter for the Temple (Texas) Daily Telegram.

PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATION / RECOGNITION

Matt has won several awards during his career from organizations such as the National Association of Real Estate Editors, American City Business Journals and Associated Press Managing Editors Association.
 
He is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Editors and the Japan-America Society of Greater Austin.

EDUCATION

Matt received his bachelor's degree in journalism and Asian studies from Baylor University.
