TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Vice President Larry Kates provides senior operational oversight for more than 2.4 million square feet of industrial property in Northern Virginia.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

In 1984, Larry began his career in property management services as a maintenance and building engineer with Transwestern, then operating as Carey Winston Company in the Mid-Atlantic region. Since then, he has worked his way up through the ranks while developing in-depth expertise in all aspects of engineering, maintenance, day-to-day property operations and client relations.

EDUCATION

Larry is a graduate of the Diesel Institute of America. He has also completed Continuing Education courses at Prince George’s Community College for system maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing equipment. He completed a Joint Apprenticeship at the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 99.
 
Larry holds the following certifications: Certified Diesel Mechanic License; Maryland Third-Grade Stationary Engineer License; Universally Certified by the Air Conditioning Contractors of America; and ASE Refrigerant Recovery and Recycling Certification.
