TRANSWESTERN ROLE

John Duncan serves as Partner and Head of the Corporate Strategy Group at Transwestern, where he works directly with the CEO, CFO, and executive leadership team to guide the firm through a pivotal chapter of growth and evolution. In this role, he leads the development and execution of enterprise-wide strategic priorities that support the firm’s position in evolving commercial real estate markets.

He partners with senior stakeholders to identify and advance strategic opportunities, including M&A and other corporate development initiatives, while also supporting the modernization of the firm’s business model, including digital strategy initiatives, to meet changing client and investor needs. Through his leadership of the Corporate Strategy Group, John focuses on market analysis, competitive intelligence, and cross-functional alignment, translating insight into actionable priorities.

He is actively engaged with leading industry organizations, including NAIOP and the Urban Land Institute, reflecting a broader commitment to staying closely aligned with the trends and conversations shaping the industry.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

John joined Transwestern in 2018 and played a central role in advancing the firm’s urban infill and mixed-use development strategy. He led the sourcing, underwriting and execution of complex investments, shaping projects from initial concept through delivery while helping refine the firm’s approach to pursuing opportunities in competitive, high-growth markets.

In addition to his development leadership, John has contributed to broader strategic initiatives across the platform, bringing a cross-functional perspective to investment, capitalization and execution. Prior to Transwestern, he held a financial planning and analysis role at GE, supporting forecasting, reporting and business performance across multiple divisions.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
