Chief Engineer Glen Young provides senior engineering oversight for a 410,197-square-foot office portfolio in Northern Virginia. He is responsible for daily operations and supervises all building maintenance, construction and renovations.


Glen has more than 26 years of engineering experience. Before joining Transwestern in 2012, he owned and managed Virginia Air & Facilities LLC, a commercial HVAC mechanical contractor business. He previously worked at NVT Technologies Government Services as the project manager and chief engineer for the newly built primary data center for the U.S. Census Bureau. In this role, he worked with General Services Administration and Census on the startup, commissioning, punch list, and warranty issues with the architects, engineers, general contractors and sub-contractors for all the building systems.
His previous work also includes engineering roles at Premisys Real Estate Services, Kaempfer Management Services, The Charles E. Smith Companies, and Browning-Ferris Industries.


Glen is a certified LEED Green Associate and is actively pursuing his Systems Maintenance Administrator and Facilities Management Administrator designations through BOMI International. He holds the following certifications: 1st and 3rd Class Steam Engineer licenses in Washington, D.C.; 1st Grade Stationary Engineer license in Maryland; Virginia Master HVAC license; Master Mechanic Air Conditioning/Refrigeration license in Washington, D.C.; 1st Class Power Engineering license from NIULPE; and CFC Certified Universal.
