TRANSWESTERN ROLE

Alex Hancock is an Executive Vice President in the Mid-Atlantic region’s Tysons, VA office. With a broad background in tenant advisory services, Alex serves in a multi-disciplined role providing corporate representation and agency leasing services, including leading the 3rd party leasing efforts for BXP at Reston Town Center and The Howard Hughes Corporation at Downtown Columbia – two of the premier mixed-use developments in the Mid-Atlantic.

Alex began his career at Newmark Knight Frank (formally Newmark Grubb Knight Frank), and then Cassidy Turley (acquired by DTZ and Cushman & Wakefield.)
 
Alex is perennially a top leasing agent at Transwestern and is annually recognized as a CoStar Power Broker. Notable transactions include Microsoft’s 400k SF office lease in Reston Town Center and CareFirst’s 80k SF office lease in Downtown Columbia. Over the past 3 years, Alex has been involved in over 2MM SF of office leasing despite global office leasing headwinds resulting from Covid-19.
 
Widely regarded as a creative and detail-oriented real estate practitioner, Alex has advised companies and owners on capitalization strategies for single- and multi-asset dispositions. Alex is well-versed in complex legal and contract negotiations, having drafted numerous letters of intent and lease and sublease revisions. He has created proprietary financial and qualitative modeling tools to support real estate decisions and has implemented comprehensive marketing strategies to generate return maximization for owners, developers and financial partners.
 
With significant exposure to the region’s leasing activity, Alex frequently presents to financial partners, investors, and landlords on regional office trends, employing a thoughtful approach that transcends traditional metrics and analyzes demographics, behavioral patterns, and forward-looking office demand.

EDUCATION

Alex earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Wake Forest University. Alex is a licensed real estate agent in Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.
